Dr. Gooding has a research background in law, history and political sciences. His research interests include disability justice and mental health law and policy, with a special focus on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Piers has been involved in legal capacity law and policy reform in a number of countries and is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Melbourne Social Equity Institute, University of Melbourne. His book, 'A time to decide: Human Rights, Mental health and the Law' (Cambridge University Press), is forthcoming.
