Après une thèse soutenue à la Toulouse School of Economics en 2020, Jérôme Gonnot est économiste au Cepii et chercheur à l'institut Convergences Migrations puis à l'Institut catholique de Lille. Ses travaux portent sur l'économie politique, l'opinion publique et les politiques d'immigration. Parmi ses contributions académiques, on retrouve l'article "Taxation with Representation: Understanding Natives' Attitudes to Foreigners' Voting Rights” publié dans le European Journal of Political Economy en 2021.
