Ingrid is currently Director of Graduate Studies in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, University of Leeds, UK.

Ingrid Sharp has published widely on aspects of gender relations in German history, including sexuality in the GDR and Weimar and cultural and media representations of gender during and after the First World War.

From 2011-13 she was Principal Investigator of an AHRC-funded network of international scholars working on female activists, with meetings in Minneapolis (2012), Budapest (2013) and Leeds (2013) to explore gendered approaches to cultural demobilisation in the aftermath of conflict.

She also leads the Resistance to War strand of the Legacies of War project at the University of Leeds. This project works with local, national and international partners and will coordinate commemorative activities and research on the First World War between 2014 and 2018.
