Ramón Spaaij is a sociologist based at Victoria University, and Special Chair in the Department of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam. He is a member of TASA (The Australian Sociological Association).
Ramón’s overarching research interests centre on questions of social cohesion, conflict and social change. He has two established fields of significant research that address these questions: sport, and terrorism and political violence. Ramón has taught in sociology, anthropology, management, criminology, sports studies and conflict studies at undergraduate and graduate levels. He has authored or co-authored eleven books.
