Deputy Head of the Faculty of Health and Medicine, University of Newcastle
Professor Elizabeth Sullivan is a public health physician and researcher who is recognised for her outstanding contributions to public health particularly in the fields of maternal and reproductive health. She is Deputy Head, Faculty of Health and Medicine, University of Newcastle. Prior to this she was Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) where she led UTS's Athena SWAN Gender Equity Initiative to a Bronze Award in 2018. Liz has a strong commitment to public health and achieving health equity and leads a program of justice health research focusing on the health and wellbeing of mothers. She has a highly successful track record of research development and management, is a former Council member of the NHMRC Council (2015-2018) and has been awarded more than $20 million in research and contract funding as a chief investigator, leads national and international collaborations and has published over 200 peer review publications and AIHW and WHO Reports.
