Associate Professor of Ageing, University of Stirling
I am an Associate Professor in ageing. I am a research psychologist and family therapist. My research and clinical practice focus on how families and relationships are impacted when someone gets ill, for example with cancer or other life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. I also have a stream of work on conflict in healthcare.
My research projects centralise patient/carer involvement, to ensure that the work I do is always grounded in their priorities. I supervise doctoral students on topics such as family and professional relationships in palliative care, prostate cancer service development. Twitter: Follow @LizForbat
Supervision of PhDs/Clinical or Professional Doctorates would include the following areas: palliative care, ageing, families and health, family therapy, carers, health services research, cancer, dementia, health care conflict, user involvement/PPI.
