I have a PhD in Communication Studies. I am currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Creative Industries at Ryerson University. I teach courses on creative collaboration, advertising, and overview of creative industries. I worked professionally for 8 years in insurance claims, conference production, and financial news. In 2017, I gave a Tedx talk titled, "Why Positive Thinking is Not Enough." In 2018, I will publish my first book, Beauty in a Box: Detangling the Roots of Canada's Black Beauty Culture (Wilfrid Laurier Press).
