The United States military confirmed that it carried out targeted strikes against Iranian radar installations on Friday after Iran allegedly launched four attack drones toward the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. According to U.S. officials, the operation was conducted as a defensive response to protect regional maritime security and ensure the safety of commercial shipping routes.

The U.S. military stated that all four Iranian drones were successfully intercepted and destroyed before they could pose a greater danger. Officials said the drones represented an immediate threat to maritime traffic operating in and around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy transit corridors. The waterway plays a key role in global oil transportation, making security in the region a major concern for international markets.

Following the drone incident, U.S. forces launched precision strikes against Iranian coastal surveillance radar facilities. The targeted sites were located in Goruk and on Qeshm Island, both positioned near the Strait of Hormuz. Military officials said the radar systems were being used to monitor activity in the area and were directly linked to the threat posed by the drone launches.

The latest military action highlights growing tensions between the United States and Iran in the Gulf region. Washington emphasized that the strikes were intended to be defensive in nature and aimed at preventing further threats to international shipping and regional stability.

Security analysts continue to monitor developments closely, as any escalation in the Strait of Hormuz could have significant implications for global trade, energy supplies, and geopolitical stability. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges facing maritime security in one of the world’s most strategically important waterways.
