“The Walking Dead” Season 9B is slated to premiere this coming Sunday. But for torrent fans, they do not have to wait a few more days and watch it right now.
As of this writing, the ninth episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 is already being seeded by hundreds of torrent users who have likely downloaded and watched it as well. This TV series installment is supposed to be released on cable TV on Sunday, Feb. 10.
However, in a possible move to boost its own streaming platform, AMC decided to treat subscribers with exclusive access to “The Walking Dead” Season 9 episode 9 a week earlier than the TV premiere. Avid fans can watch the episode much earlier than they expected if they are willing to pay $4.99 for a monthly subscription to AMC Premiere.
On the other hand, Torrent Freak pointed out that this move might have also opened the door for pirate sites to obtain a copy of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 episode 9. This is very possible since all torrent files in pirate sites are labeled WEBRIP or WEB-DL. This means the video file was recorded and obtained from an official online platform.
It is also not surprising that many torrent users would be enticed to download “The Walking Dead” Season 9 episode 9. This is where the infamous group of villains, called Whisperers, are going to be introduced. This is also going to be the first episode where Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln) are no longer part of the cast.
Torrent files of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 episode 9 are also of decent quality. Pirate sites are offering 720p viewing quality of the TV show, which is not so bad especially for something that can be acquired and stored for free.
“The Walking Dead” Season 9 episode is obviously a copyrighted material and, therefore, it is illegal to download through torrent hosts. So fans who do not want to take any kind of risk but also do not like to spend extra $4.99 can just be patient and wait for the show to return this weekend.
