The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “All-Star 2.0” is set to return with a new starry design for All-Star Weekend 2025. Meanwhile, Devin Booker revealed a “Michigan State” PE of the Nike Book 1 during the Suns' homecoming game against the Pistons.
The Nike Kobe 6 Protro 'All-Star 2.0' Returns in 2025 with a Starry Twist on the Classic Design
The highly anticipated Nike Kobe 6 Protro will transform significantly when it returns to stores in February 2025. Initially believed to be a simple Sail/Black two-tone colorway of the sixth model, recent images reveal a significant update to the upper’s signature snakeskin-inspired TPU exterior.
Rather than the traditional mamba-snake pattern, Nike has introduced a starry design on the raised TPU layer, giving the sneaker a fresh, celestial look. However, the brand didn’t eliminate the iconic snake motif. The star-laden pattern gradually transitions into the original snake pattern from the lateral to the medial side, preserving the shoe’s classic feel while incorporating modern updates.
This Kobe 6 Protro “Sail” edition is widely believed to drop during All-Star Weekend 2025, scheduled in the Bay Area at the Golden State Warriors' Chase Center. These changes were introduced just before the release, with new detailed images surfacing courtesy of @chriscolgan. The Kobe 6 Protro “All-Star 2.0” is expected to retail for $190.
Devin Booker Unveils Nike Book 1 'Michigan State' PE During Homecoming Game at Breslin Center
In other basketball news, the Phoenix Suns are playing against the Detroit Pistons at Michigan State’s Breslin Center, marking a homecoming for Devin Booker. While Booker is a Kentucky Wildcat by college affiliation, the Grand Rapids native shares deep connections with Michigan State, mainly through a strong relationship with longtime coach Tom Izzo.
Ahead of the game, Booker revealed a notable Nike Book 1 “Michigan State” PE, crafted to commemorate his visit. The shoe is adorned in MSU’s signature forest green, featuring a nubuck toe box, canvas quarter panel, and a white mini Swoosh, complementing the more prominent logos. The design also includes a nod to Michigan State’s Spartan mascot on the lateral heel.
Although Booker ended up playing for Kentucky, he’s spoken about how close he came to committing to Michigan State, adding that he regularly drove to the Breslin Center for open gym workouts. Despite the change in his basketball journey, his relationship with Coach Izzo has remained strong throughout his professional career.
As a Nike-sponsored school, Michigan State’s basketball team received Book 1 PEs, though they are not expected to be made available for public release now.
