Your favorite “Bachelor” villain has been given the boot.
On Monday, Nick Viall said goodbye to polarizing standout Corinne Olympios. Corinne, who has gained a following for her weird antics on the show, saw herself eliminated from “The Bachelor” Season 21. US Weekly said mentions about the reality dating series saw a spike on Twitter thanks to that episode, with the show’s fans comments about her departure ranging from disbelief to relief.
“Wait was I too busy sobbing that I didn't hear Nick give a reason for sending Corinne home? #TheBachelor,” “Bachelor Nation” alum Olivia Caridi wrote.
Another tweet read, “The good news for Corinne is that NYC is a short flight to her Nanny's cucumbers and cheese pasta in Miami. #TheBachelor.”
Talking to “Good Morning America”’s Michael Strahan on Tuesday, Corinne said she was caught offguard about the elimination, and thought Nick’s visit to her hometown, and meeting her dad and her nanny, went well.
“I definitely was surprised when I got sent home. We had just had such an amazing hometown date, and things went really well with my family. I just thought we had a lot of fun. We talked about a lot of emotional things. [I was] just super-blindsided by going home," she said.
But will we really see more of her in the “Bachelor” TV universe? E! said that Corinne could do a stint at “Bachelor in Paradise” or star in her own reality show, since Rachel Lindsay is already slated to do the upcoming "Bachelorette." But should ABC do the next one, Corinne might be offered the chance to do so.
