‘The 100’ season 4 has official begun post-production and is expected to end by January next year. Creator Jason Rothenberg has also teamed up with Greg Berlanti of ‘The Flash’ and ‘Arrow’ fame for a brand new action-adventure series entitled ‘The Searchers.’
According to Melty, post-production on the much-anticipated season 4 of The CW’s post-apocalyptic science-fiction drama has finally commenced, with a target end-date sometime in mid-January. Supervising sound editor Charlie Crutcher recently teased in a new tweet that audiences are in for a “wild ride.”
Season 4 picks up following the events of season 3’s finale, where the Arkers and Grounders alike having to work together to survive an impending nuclear apocalypse. In season 3’s final episode, entitled "Perverse Instantiation – Part Two", Clarke (Eliza Taylor) managed to infiltrate the matrix-world of the City of Light to pull a kill switch to destroy ALIE.
To stop Clarke, ALIE claimed that several abandoned nuclear power plants on Earth were gradually releasing radiation, warning that Earth will become uninhabitable in the next six months. This meant that City of Light is humankind's only escape.
Clarke somehow believed that everyone would survive on Earth and went on to finish her mission by pulling the switch. This destroyed ALIE and freed everyone under her control.
Showrunner Jason Rothenberg insisted that melting nuclear power plants will bring on a second apocalypse. This means that the Arkers and the Grounders may have to work together for survival.
In addition to Taylor’s return to the series as lead protagonist Clarke Griffin, Zach McGowan and Nadia Hilker are set to reprise their roles as Roan and Luna, respectively. Canadian actors Jana Mitsoula, Alex Pangburn, and Joseph John Coleman will also be joining season 4’s cast but their roles are yet to be known.
Meanwhile, it was reported by Cinema Blend that Rothenberg and Greg Berlanti of The CW’s DC television universe are set to create a new action-adventure drama series entitled ‘The Searchers.’ The series will focus on a brother and sister embarking on a new adventure a decade after the death of their parents. They are forced to join heads after they discover that their mother’s strange and frightening stories may be a “road map” to mysteries and legends around the world.
‘The 100’ season 4 was renewed on The CW for 13 episodes last March 2016. The series, based loosely on a book of the same name, was developed for the network by Jason Rothenberg. It follows a group of teenagers, who become the first humans to inhabit Earth following a devastating nuclear apocalypse.
