‘Steven Universe’ season 7: Canceled or renewed? Rebecca Sugar gives an answer

“Steven Universe” season 7 is expected to be the next project after “Steven Universe Future” ended in December last year. However, Cartoon Network has yet to formally confirm the animation’s renewal and fans are waiting for the studio’s update.

Possibilities of renewal

Since there is no announcement yet, fans are wondering if there’s a chance that “Steven Universe” season 7 will not be renewed anymore. This is because it is taking a while for Cartoon Network to say something about it. But while there is no news from the studio yet, Rebecca Sugar may have already confirmed that there will be new episodes after “Steven Universe Future.”

The show creator previously shared that she and her team are working to create more “Steven Universe” projects and it surely includes new installments of the favorite animated series. Thus, fans can look forward to “Steven Universe” season 7 and other shows related to Steven.

“I can’t say much yet, but there will be more,” Sugar told Comic Book last year. “There is one more big thing that I really want to say and that's coming up.”

Now, since it may take a while before “Steven Universe” season 7 airs, Rebecca Sugar wants fans to review and watch the “Steven Universe” episodes and other shows in preparation for the upcoming seasons. It can be assumed that the new stories will have references to the previous scenarios so she wants fans to know about them before the new installments could be released.

“I'm trying to think of what I can say,” the show creator told fans. “Just please keep watching including the events of the show and the events of the movie as they all matter.”

Will it be season 7 or “Steven Universe Future” season 2?

There is a bit of confusion with regards to “Steven Universe” season 7 and the second installment of the Future but fans should know that “Future” was produced to provide clarifications on questions that the viewers might have after watching season 5. In other words, it is only an epilogue so there will be no season 2 and what fans should wait for is the seventh installment.

“Steven Universe” season 7 is surely coming but the release date details are not yet available as of this time.
