“One Piece” chapter 973 will be an emotional chapter as Oden is confirmed dead. His demise will mark the end of his backstory and it is anticipated that the current timeline will resume.
Recap
Oden wants the scabbards to survive and this was his last wish. It can be said that he died happy because this wish has been fulfilled when they were able to walk out from the boiling oil unscathed. Later, Kinemon and the others have met lady Toki at the castle and as requested by Oden before he passed, she sent some of the scabbards 20 years into the future.
Oden also left a letter for his wife Toki and it was there that he made the request for the time-travel. He also asked his wife to give his two swords to Hiyori and Momonosuke when they grow up. Toki did as she was told and sent the scabbards to the future however, Ahura Doji, Neko and Ino stayed behind for some reason.
In any case, Oden chose to send them to 20 years in the future because he predicted that it is at that time when the chosen one will show up in Wano and finally defeat Kaido. Before he died, Oden let Kaido know that he will be eliminated when the chosen one arrives in the future.
Plot prediction
“One Piece” chapter 973 will let fans see what happened in the present timeline when the rebels’ ship vanished. Where did everyone disappear to and will they be able to meet Luffy?
Toki sent Kinemon, Kiku, Raizo, Kanjuro and Momo in the future and in the present time, Kinemon and company will be shown standing on the shore but they could not find the ships. They were surprised and want to know what happened to the rebel army.
Elsewhere, Luffy and Zoro are seriously training for their upcoming raid. However, if Kinemon will not figure what happened to the disappeared rebels, he may not be able to meet Luffy at Onigashima.
As per the plot prediction posted on Reddit’s discussion board for “One Piece” chapter 973, Toki may teleport to 20 years to see if the scabbards succeeded in meeting the chosen one and helping him topple Kaido. It is also expected that the traitor will finally be revealed in this chapter.
Release date
“One Piece” chapter 973 will not be coming out this week. It was confirmed that there will be some delays and it will be released on March 8 instead as per Otakukart.
