Song Joong Ki is the lead actor in the film called “Bogota.” For this movie, the actor and some crew flew to Colombia to shoot, and they have been staying there since January.

Filming cancellation

It was said that 90 percent of the movie has to be shot in the said country, so Song Joong Ki and the film’s Korean production team planned to stay there for three months. However, with the current situation that is crippling the world right now, filming has to be canceled.

The world is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, and as it is quickly spreading in many countries, Song Joong Ki and the staff decided to pack up and leave Bogota, Colombia, as soon as they can. This means that they will be postponing the shoot for an indefinite time.

“All of the staff who are in Colombia, South America will return home in consideration of the situation in the continent,” Koreaboo quoted the production team as saying. “We are looking for ways to make sure the staff and cast members can return home as safely as possible by arranging a flight as soon as we can.”

Indonesia’s Winnet News also reported that the decision was also due to the Korean team’s resolve to follow the policies and guidelines set by the South Korean and Colombian governments as the COVID-19 situation intensifies. While Song Joong Ki and the staff are waiting for their clearance to fly back home, they have been evacuated from Bogota already.

The team is already booking their flights, and everyone is hoping they could be home this week.

Resumption of filming

The production team went on to say that they are prepared to avoid long disruptions of filming the movie. To make sure that they can still complete the movie with Song Joong Ki, they are said to be looking for alternatives and solve the problems with production in this difficult situation.

"Bogota" is Song Joong Ki’s first movie after his divorce from Song Hye Kyo. It was expected to be completed this month but had to be delayed for a bit due to health concerns amid the COVID-19 infection. This film also stars Colombian actress Juana Del Rio and may be released in 2021.
