The smartphone rumor mill has been filled with reports that Samsung is adding the S Pen support for the Galaxy S21 series. Now, another reliable source reported that the new feature is “confirmed” for at least one of the devices launching next year for the premium series.
Samsung Galaxy S21 specs, design, features: What to expect
WinFuture is the latest to report that the Galaxy S21 Ultra is confirmed to support the use of S Pen. It is expected to be optional, though, which means the S Pen is likely sold separately.
The same report mentions that Samsung is preparing to launch special phone cases for Galaxy S21 Ultra where users can keep the stylus should they decide to purchase an S Pen. Unlike the Galaxy Note cases, accessories for the S21 Ultra will reportedly have covers where the stylus can be placed.
This is going to be the first time Samsung is adding S Pen support for a smartphone series other than the Galaxy Note. This has also been the main source of speculation that the company is discontinuing its “phablet” series.
All versions of Galaxy S21 are expected to support 5G network. However, Samsung is reportedly going to launch a 4G variant for the base model. It should also not come as a surprise that the series will be powered by either Samsung Exynos 2100 or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888.
Earlier leaks have provided Samsung fans with an idea of the new appearance to expect in the Galaxy S21 series. Most of the changes can be found in the rear camera bump. Meanwhile, a video has also leaked recently showing more of the front side of the upcoming device. The placement of the selfie camera and the thin bezels are familiar and look similar to the Galaxy S20 series.
Samsung Galaxy S21 release date expected in mid-January
The S Pen support is not the only important change expected from Samsung with regards to the launch of Galaxy S21. The next premium smartphone lineup has also been reported to arrive in the market earlier than usual. Several reliable insiders have already reported that the Galaxy S21 series announcement can be expected in mid-January 2021.
