Hester Peirce, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) commissioner, has been nominated for another term.
She is also popularly known as crypto mom as she perceives constructive stances for crypto-industry. Peirce, who has been serving the US regulatory body and became the most prolific crypto advocates among the U.S’s regulatory authority, chaired the position in 2018 upon the nomination by the U.S. President Donald Trump. Her term as the SEC commissioner was expected to be expired today. But for now, her name has been renominated for the second time to the senate. The decision for the extension of the tenure for Peirce has to be voiced by the U.S. Senate, who usually confirms the nominations for the crucial federal official positions.
The new term is most likely to entrust her for extended service until 2025, as reported by Bloomberg.
The crypto-enthusiast at the US-SEC has recently divulged the relationship between a potential digital dollar and independent crypto.
In a recent webstream with Crypto Finance Conference St. Moritz, the crypto-friendly commissioner addressed the mounting possibility of potential digital dollar.
