TikTok sees its "Top Moments" NFT initiative as a way to empower creators, with proceeds from the sale mostly going to the creators and NFT artists involved.
The NFTs will have a dedicated site for its series of weekly drops beginning Oct. 6 with a release from Lil Nas X and TikTok creator Rudy Willingham.
The TikTok Top Moments collection is based on six culturally significant videos on the platform.
TikTok's limited edition NFTs will be powered by Immutable X, while its one-of-one NFTs will be made available on Ethereum. The NFTs can be minted and traded with zero gas fees on the Immutable X Layer-2.
Among the upcoming offerings, with details from the TikTok blog post, are Curtis Roach and Coin Artist in a 15-second TikTok video.
There's also the first robot rapper, FNMeka, in a collaboration with virtual shoe and collectible creator RTFKT.
Another is a team up between musicians Bella Poarch and Grimes.
