Talks in Paris involving U.S. officials Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff, Ukraine, and Europe’s key powers—France, Britain, and Germany—marked a significant step toward a more united European approach to Ukraine’s future. A senior French official described the meeting, held at the Elysee Palace, as “excellent,” emphasizing the launch of a new process that actively includes Europe’s top players in discussions on Ukraine’s post-war recovery and peace strategy.

Referring to the "E3" group—France, Germany, and the UK—a senior adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron noted, “The E3 are around the table, and we’re doing it with a European ambition.” This highlights a growing European initiative in peace negotiations and reconstruction planning for Ukraine, which has suffered extensive damage from Russia’s ongoing military aggression.

The Paris meeting was seen as the beginning of a broader, structured engagement by European nations in shaping Ukraine’s future. As part of this ongoing effort, the next round of negotiations is scheduled to take place in London next week, involving top negotiators from the same group of countries. This follow-up meeting is expected to further align transatlantic cooperation and reinforce Europe's leadership in supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and rebuilding efforts.

The diplomatic developments come amid intensified Russian attacks, such as a recent drone strike in Odesa that left homes in ruins. The Paris dialogue underscores a shift toward a collaborative, long-term political solution where Europe plays a more central role alongside the United States.

This coordinated diplomatic push signals strong transatlantic unity and a renewed commitment to Ukrainian independence and regional stability in the face of continued Russian aggression.
