Data analytics giant Palantir Technologies and defense innovator Anduril Industries have partnered to transform defense AI training. By combining Palantir's AI data structuring tools with Anduril's autonomous systems, the collaboration aims to overcome challenges in deploying advanced AI models in national security systems.
Palantir and Anduril Collaborate to Enhance AI in Defense Systems
On Friday, Palantir Technologies, a data analytics firm, and Anduril Industries, a defense tech company, announced their partnership to use defense data for AI training, Reuters reports.
As part of the collaboration, Palantir will use its AI platform to organize, categorize, and train models that can be deployed onto national security systems, and Anduril will help the government with data retention and distribution.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an important tool for many industries looking to automate their processes. The sensitive nature of the data used to train models in the defense industry means that its use in this field is still in its infancy.
AI Challenges in National Security Systems
"U.S. companies are developing world-leading models but struggling to deploy them at scale with government partners for defense applications," according to the firms.
Anduril has announced a cooperation with OpenAI, the manufacturer of ChatGPT, to develop and implement sophisticated AI solutions for national security missions. This alliance follows their announcement.
Anduril, which has been around since 2017, provides autonomous solutions for a variety of defense missions and has worked with tactical robotic system automation before, Yahoo Finance shares.
Palantir’s Leadership in the GenAI Boom
One of the main winners of the GenAI boom has been Palantir, which has witnessed increased demand for its software services from companies aiming to implement the technology and robust expenditure from governments.
