OpenAI’s latest move in AI innovation introduces Sora Turbo, a cutting-edge text-to-video tool for ChatGPT Plus users. With HD capabilities and robust safety measures, Sora enters a competitive space dominated by Google and Meta.
OpenAI Expands Multimodal AI with Sora Turbo Launch
In a move towards multimodal AI technologies, OpenAI announced on Monday that its model for creating videos from text has been made available to customers of ChatGPT Plus and Pro, Reuters reprots.
With the release of its ChatGPT chatbot in November 2022, the Microsoft-backed startup started a generative AI trend. Now it wants to take on Stability AI's Stable Video Diffusion, Google and Meta, both of which offer text-to-video capabilities.
The Sora AI model was initially unveiled in February, but during its research preview period, it was only accessible to safety testers. Users of ChatGPT Plus and Pro can now access it for free as Sora Turbo.
Sora Turbo’s Advanced Features Target Text-to-Video Rivals
"We're working on tailored pricing for different types of users, which we plan to make available early next year," the business announced in a blog post.
Per Yahoo, users will have the ability to create films in square, vertical, or widescreen aspect ratios with a maximum length of 20 seconds and a resolution of 1080p.
While the European Union, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom will not have access to Sora just yet, other places where ChatGPT is available will have the AI model. This was announced by OpenAI.
OpenAI Strengthens Safety Measures for Sora AI
To further combat the platform's potential abuse, the business has announced that it will prohibit the production and dissemination of sexually explicit content, including child sexual abuse materials and sexual deepfakes, on Sora.
"Uploads of people will be limited at launch, but we intend to roll the feature out to more users as we refine our deepfake mitigations," according to the company.
