In the first two movies, there was one character who made a huge impact in the Four Horsemen’s previous heists despite not being around – Lionel Shrike. With this much influence on the group, it is not a stretch to speculate on his addition to the story of “Now You See Me 3.”

Now You See Me 3’ plot predictions

Lionel’s connection to the band of illusionists is mainly because their leader, Dylan (Mark Ruffalo), is his son. The series of heists in the first movie was an elaborate plan to avenge his death, while Lionel’s memories were what practically saved Dylan and the Four Horsemen in the sequel. Suffice to say, Lionel has been an important aspect of the movie series. And one perfect way for the overall plot to come full circle is for him to have a bigger role in “Now You See Me 3.”

Lionel has been presumed dead since his stunt that went wrong decades ago. However, movie fans might have noticed that it was mentioned several times in the first two movies that his body was never found in the lake where he supposedly drowned. Dylan also proved that the safe had a cheat unlock protocol, which was how he stayed alive in the second film.

The implications that Lionel could be alive is just more convincing than to think that he is really dead. Bringing someone back from the dead might also be the plot twist that the series needs to excite is fanbase should Lionsgate decides to continue to produce “Now You See Me 3.”

Now You See Me 3’ release date rumors

There are many ways the “Now You See Me 3” plot could go, but its production needs to be confirmed first. Last January, there was a report claiming that Lionsgate had started calling the main cast members suggesting that the production is moving forward.

However, Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Danny Atlas in the movies, later told ComingSoon.net that they have not heard from the movie company yet. “I’ve heard nothing, I wonder what the statute of limitations on that kind of stuff is, because maybe if enough time passes, there might be a decreasing level of interest in it,” he added. With this much uncertainty, it looks like “Now You See Me 3” is still a no-go in 2020, and its earliest possible release date could be in the second half of 2021 or early 2022.
