Nike Inc. introduces a game-changing piece in sports apparel – the Aerogami Jacket. It features an automatic ventilation system that adapts to athletes' needs, enhancing breathability and, ultimately, performance. The cutting-edge tech, co-developed by NSRL and NXT, uses moisture-reactive vents to counter excessive sweating.
Nike's new Aerogami Jacket can transform into a piece of handy ventilation equipment in real-time. With the technology used in the construction of the new jacket, it has been described as performance apparel with a self-adjusting vent.
The company explained that the item offers comfort by increasing breathability at times when athletes need it most. The integrated venting system was designed to adapt to the needs of the wearer and create more-breathable performance apparel with a built-in cooling system.
As per Fashion Network, the new Nike Aerogami is set to be released in July through the Nike Run Division Aerogami Jacket and will be available for both men and women. It should be noted that the men's version is arriving later in the autumn.
The new technology was said to have been co-developed by the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) and Nike Explore Team (NXT). They built the jacket that uses moisture-reactive vents that automatically open and close after detecting sweat in the body.
"Aerogami is our latest example of Nike's culture of innovation focused on solving the timeless needs of runners," Nike's Advanced Innovation Collectives' senior apparel innovation product manager, Jahan Behbahany, said in a press release. "We know feeling too warm, uncomfortable and distracted while wearing a running jacket is a common challenge many runners face, so we have obsessed with developing an innovative solution that gives them increased breathability without compromising style and protection. What's great about this technology is not only can the athlete feel the benefit, but they can also see it."
