‘Nashville’ season 5’s episode 10, titled “I’ll Fly Away,” will feature the aftermath of a major character’s death from the previous episode. Juliette will continue to struggle professionally and demands to perform at a music awards show while Will and Zach’s relationship moves on to the next level.
The synopsis for “I’ll Fly Away” posted on TV Guide reads, “A legal dispute threatens to break apart the family; Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) demands to perform at the CMT Music Awards; Will (Chris Carmack) and Zach (Cameron Scoggins) are drawn closer together.”
The previous episode, titled "If Tomorrow Never Comes," featured the shocking death of the musical drama television series’ lead protagonist following a car accident that landed her in the hospital for massive injuries.
According to the recap posted on Entertainment Weekly, the musical drama series lost country music superstar Rayna James (Connie Britton). Initially, it seemed that Rayna would pull through after a long and arduous surgery to fix her shattered pelvis and hip. However, her condition began to deteriorate and she was eventually rushed to the ICU only to die from multi organ failure.
The promo opens to Rayna’s funeral attended by a small number of her closest family and friends. In another scene, Juliette is told that they are looking for a replacement for Rayna as well as someone to sing a tribute for her for an upcoming event.
Juliette insists, “Tell them that I am the only person who should be doing this.” However, she is told that they may be worried she is not well enough to perform.
Meanwhile, the James family will be facing legal disputes after it was revealed that Rayna did not leave any will or authorization over guardianship for her children should she pass away. It seems that trouble is brewing ahead for Deacon (Charles Esten) and Teddy (Eric Close) as they fight over Maddie (Lennon Stella) and Daphne (Maisy Stella).
‘Nashville’ season 5’s episode 10, titled “I’ll Fly Away,” is scheduled to be released on CMT on March 2, 2017. It will be followed by episode 11, titled "Fire and Rain," scheduled to air on March 9.
