The season finale of “Modern Family” finds Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) at odds because of a problem with work location; sandwiching their daughter Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) as a result. According to the synopsis on Spoilersguide.com of season 7, episode 22 titled “Double Click,” the rest of the family are having their own problems, both at work and at home.
With Cameron set to spend the summer in Kansas City for a job, he is not willing to leave Lily behind and wants to bring her along. Mitch is staying put though, and he doesn’t want to be away from his daughter either. As a result, they will have to figure out how to make their situation work in the season finale and stop further agitating Lily.
Claire (Julie Bowen), on the other hand, is having trouble with an employee who she wants to fire. The problem is that she can’t seem to find the right time to do it. It’s likely the employee termination issue will solve itself on the finale since the worker in question has been annoying her for the longest time.
Then we have Phil (Ty Burrell) who thinks that his son Luke (Nolan Gould) is in a secret relationship. He even thinks that he caught him with a girl in bed one time, so now he has to confront him about it.
Finally, Jay(Ed O’Neill) is getting fed up with his unemployment and wants to fix that issue by getting a job. Even though he was quite happy about his situation for some time, he feels that he is ready to re-enter the workforce; and he is not willing to accept that at his age, there might be no job waiting for him.
It seems that the season 7 finale for “Modern Family” will involve dealing with and solving a lot of modern problems. Fans will have to wait and see how things turn out during episode 22.
