Mila Kunis admits horrible split with Macaulay Culkin; Actress opens up about their very private romance

Mila Kunis has been in a relationship with “Home Alone” star Macaulay Culkin. They have dated for a decade which is really a long time.

They started dating in 2002 when she was 18 and he was 21 years old. They broke up in 2011, around the time when Mila Kunis was promoting her movie “Black Swan.” As for Macaulay Culkin, he retired from the entertainment business after their split.

Kunis’ career is starting to really take off when she parted ways with Culkin. At that time, they have not publicly talked about their separation. The couple was known to be very secretive and have kept their romance really private in the years that they were together so it is no wonder they have kept quiet about their split as well.

Then again, a few years after, Mila Kunis was ready to share stories and give the reason why she and Macaulay have called it quits after dating for 10 years. In an interview in “The Howard Stern Show” in 2016, she admitted that their breakup was a messy one and she described it as “horrible.”

Mila Kunis revealed that one of the reasons why their relationship ended was Macaulay’s fame. She explained that they opt to keep their romance private because her boyfriend was really popular when they were still dating. She said it was impossible to walk down the street with him without being noticed and approached by his fans.

"He was huge. You couldn't walk down the street with him," Mila said in the interview. "He always had this weird attraction, like fans just screamed when they saw him! They didn't know how to react. It wasn't like a normal response to a celebrity. Fans responded in a very abnormal way to him."

She had the intention of marrying Macaulay

Mila Kunis admitted that she did not have any intention of tying the knot with Macaulay Culkin even after dating for a long time. She shared that this is because she does not believe in marriage and she even told her dad about it.

In another interview, she said that meeting her boyfriend at a young age, she learned a lot from him and it shaped her life. She added they grew up together and at that time, he was the “rock” that’s all she needs.

The truth about their split

Macaulay Culkin’s spokesperson told the media that he and Mila Kunis’ breakup was amicable and they remain close friends. But she confessed that this was not the case at all.

UK’s Mirror reported that the actress later admitted that it was "a horrible, horrible breakup" and she was to blame for it. However, she did not go into detail as to what happened. Then again, she denied that it was about cheating and stressed that she never cheated on her boyfriend.

Mila Kunis is now married to Ashton Kutcher while Macaulay Culkin is dating Brenda Song since 2017.
