Mercedes-Benz and Superplastic debut their unique 'Superdackel' capsule collection, reinventing the classic Wackeldackel figure alongside a range of chic apparel and accessories, available for a limited time.
According to WWD News, Mercedes-Benz and Superplastic also held a drop event, and it was held at the Superplastic flagship store located in New York City. It was mentioned that there was also a special guest appearance of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class model during the affair.
The companies introduced Superdackel, which has been described as the reimagined version of Wackeldackel, the nodding-head dog figure that is usually placed on vehicles' dashboards. One of the things that differentiate this version is the necklace with the Mercedes-Benz logo hanging on its neck.
This toy figure and the apparel capsule collection went live, and it was the latest release from Superplastic, which is a known creator of animated celebs, vinyl toys, and digital collectibles. Its partnership with the German luxury automaker follows its collaboration with KidSuper earlier this year.
Aside from the wooden Superdackel toy, Mercedes-Benz and Superplastic also released apparel and accessories such as T-shirts, hoodies, scarf, a baseball cap, and a dog collar. Prices for these items range from $64 to $238, with the hat being the cheapest and the hoodie as the most expensive item.
Customers may find the products online or at the Superplastic store in NYC. These will be available until Sunday only.
"The opportunity to bring Superdackel to life with Mercedes-Benz has transcended realms and possibilities in our digital universe as such an iconic moment," Superplastic's chief creative officer, Galen McKamy, said in a press release. "Janky & Guggimon are stoked to have a new partner in crime, and we'll certainly be picking up the pieces in the wake of the chaos left behind."
Julia Hofmann, Mercedes-Benz AG's head of branded entertainment and brand partnerships, further said, "It has been a high-energy and fully joyful experience working with the Superplastic team to reimagine the iconic Wackeldackel and bring Superdackel to life through this toy and apparel collection. People around the world love to add their own personal touch to their cars, even in the digital era."
