There are several rumors concerning Mark Harmon claiming that he’s going to be leaving the popular “NCIS” series. One such rumor revolves around the actor’s health, particularly on the apparent weight loss that’s supposedly caused by his knee surgery.
However, Mark Harmon’s rep came forward to address the matter and said that the actor has no plan to leave the police procedural drama. Another rumor that’s been floating around in the past weeks is Mark Harmon leaving “NCIS” due to his involvement with CBS’ adaptation of the “Prey” novels.
This, too, is completely false as Mark Harmon will still be leading the show even though he’s going to have some of his time taken by the production of the abovementioned adaptation. The “Prey” novels are another crime drama series that will follow the life of Lucas Davenport, a Minneapolis agent whose pitted against some of the most twisted and elusive killers in the country.
The upcoming show will have a lot to work on given that its source material has 29 different books to explore. The first one, “The Rules of Prey,” was released in 1989 and features the antagonist known as “maddog.” Remarkably brutal and exceptionally brilliant, maddog is actually an attorney going by the name Louis Vullion. While he has been successful at eluding the authorities of Twin Cities, he immediately found out that Davenport is a different sort of agent altogether. Mark Harmon and the rest of the showrunners certainly have their work cut out for them as fans of the “Prey” series expect high quality for the upcoming adaptation.
Meanwhile, “NCIS” is currently on its Christmas hiatus and will be returning on January 2019. Mark Harmon will be reprising his role as Agent Gibbs with the rest of the supporting cast returning to play their respective roles.
