Is Jennifer Garner having a difficult time coping with her divorce from Ben Affleck so she signed up for karate classes? A tabloid claimed that this is the case and added that the “Peppermint” actress is aiming for a black belt.
As per Globe (via Gossip Cop), Jennifer Garner feels that she can protect herself if she learns martial arts and completes the course with a black belt. The main trigger for getting into karate was reportedly her divorce with Ben Affleck and his current situation.
As everyone already knows, Jennifer Garner brought her ex-husband to a rehabilitation center after a relapse from alcohol addiction. The good news is that the actor is reportedly doing great now, according to People.
Now, is Jen really into karate to let out her frustrations? The answer is “no,” with Gossip Cop refuting such claims. The publication stated that the story is flawed and the contents were fabricated pieces of information.
GC pointed out that it is Violet, her and Ben’s 12-year-old daughter, who was attending karate classes. She accompanied her daughter last month and this is where Globe might have based its report.
Moreover, if ever Jennifer Garner was learning martial arts, it was not due to her divorce but because of her new film, “Peppermint.” She already explained to People that she trained in mixed martial arts because she needed it for her actions scenes.
“I’ve been training for a while on this,” she said. “I did MMA skills, gun skills, knife skills. It was the connection to the physical that made me kind of understand her fight for her daughter.”
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have not been together for quite a while now but their divorce is not yet finalized. Perhaps, there is still a slight chance of reconciliation since they are on good terms, plus one of the reasons why their divorce proceeding is getting delayed is that, as per reports, they do not follow up on it.
