Hypertension or having a high blood pressure puts a person at risk of stroke and heart disease, two of the leading causes of death in the United States.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that hypertension is the primary cause of close to half a million deaths in the United States.
As they say, prevention is always better than cure, there is a way for you to lower your risk of getting hypertension.
According to an article on the Daily Express, dedicating a few minutes of your time to dancing regularly could be a big help in holding hypertension at bay. And, it is something that you can do in your humble abode.
Dancing, an aerobic exercise, could help you maintain a normal blood pressure because it uses rhythmic movements and involves a number of muscles throughout your body.
Aside from dancing, there are also other types of aerobic exercises that you can also do to keep your heart healthy and these are jogging and swimming.
However, you should be careful because not all exercises are good for maintaining a normal blood pressure. There are some that could cause your blood pressure to spike such as sprinting and weightlifting.
If you already have hypertension, you need to check with your doctor regarding the types of exercises that you can do that will keep you safe.
Aside from regular physical exercise, stress reduction could also help you maintain a normal blood pressure.
It will be very helpful for you to learn stress relieving techniques such as meditation, yoga, warm baths or just taking long walks at a relaxed pace of course.
If you are keen on partying then you should make an effort to make a lifestyle change. Heavy drinking and smoking are sure ways for you to become hypertensive.
So, if you want a longer life, strive for a healthier lifestyle.
