Aaron Rodgers, the reigning MVP at the National Football League, announced this week that he has also jumped into the crypto game. He said on Monday, Nov.1, that he has teamed up with Cash App recently to convert part of his earnings into Bitcoin.

The 37-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback said that the mobile payment service company allows him to turn some of his salary into cryptocurrency, and he is doing this for the first time ever.

According to Fox Business, the NFL star made the announcement of his entrance into the world of crypto while still wearing his “John Wick” Halloween costume. What’s more, Rodgers also announced there would be a $1 million worth of Bitcoin giveaway promo for his fans.

At any rate, the football player is set to earn more than $1.1 million salary in addition to over $22 million signing and roster bonuses. He signed a 4-year contract with The Packers, and the deal is worth $134 million before the start of the 2018 season.

Aaron Rodgers uploaded a short clip of himself on social media to tell fans about his new partnership with Cash App. He also mentioned his Bitcoin and the $1,000,000 giveaway to fans, plus instructions on how to win. Then again, he did not mention any details with regards to how much of his salary he will be converting into Bitcoin.

“I believe in Bitcoin & the future is bright that is why I am teaming up with Cash App to take a portion of my salary in bitcoin today,” Rodgers tweeted on Nov. 2. “To make Bitcoin more accessible to my fans I am giving out a total of $1M in BTC now too. Drop your $cashtag w/ #PaidInBitcoin & follow @CashApp”

Finally, Aaron Rodgers is the newest professional athlete to jump into the cryptocurrency space. This is also a sort of investment, so more and more artists and athletes are being drawn to digital currencies and technologies. Tom Brady is another popular NFL player to have entered the blockchain with his non-fungible token platform called Autograph.
