NEW YORK, June 26, 2017 -- Collibra, the leading data governance software platform for business users, has been named a leader by Forrester Research in The Forrester Wave™: Data Governance Stewardship And Discovery Providers, Q2 2017*
According to the Forrester report, “Data is finally getting the recognition it deserves. It’s becoming key for not only transactions and decision reports but also operations, customer engagement, product design, and product and service innovations, and it’s now developing into a new source of revenue for organizations as well. But firms must govern both internal and external data to improve its quality, protection, regulatory compliance, use, and storage.”
“We’re honored to be recognized as a leader by Forrester. We think the recognition Collibra received from Forrester reflects our investment in making it easy for our customers to implement multiple use cases using the advanced Collibra Data Governance platform,” said Felix Van de Maele, Collibra co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. “Our extensive network of partners can also assist in designing, implementing and managing a data governance initiative. This ecosystem contributes to the body of templates and frameworks we make available to our customers. This ensures customers drive real business value from their data, and do so quickly.”
The Forrester report identified the expanding number of user types as a challenge in the market. According to the report, “Data governance tools touch many domains, such as data quality, security, MDM, life cycle, and privacy, with more yet to come. They thus involve a growing number of stakeholders with very different needs.” The report notes Collibra provides a configurable collaborative platform designed to meet the needs of 15 different user personas. The report also states Collibra fits particularly well for data governance teams and chief digital officers. Forrester also cited that part of the Collibra Catalog offering expands the capabilities for data analysts/scientists to find, access, and collaborate on data sets, and the upcoming data profiling capability and visual exploration will enhance that even further.
Collibra received the highest possible scores in the templates, frameworks and methods, partner ecosystem, and performance criteria. “Our leadership in these areas shows the investment Collibra makes in our customer’s success: providing them with templates and frameworks to get to value quickly, and building a substantive partner ecosystem that can design, plan and implement data governance programs. This combination has given Collibra the ability to serve a large and growing community of organizations from diverse industries and geographies,” said Stan Christiaens, Collibra co-founder and Chief Technology Officer.
