German Chancellor Angela Merkel's political rivals are cheering their way as she loses her popularity among public. What the opposition failed to do , what European debt crisis failed to do, what third bailout package offer to Greece failed to do is being done by European migrant crisis.
Last week, poll by Der Spiegel showed that German Chancellor for first time lost the position of Germany's most popular leader to her own foreign minister, who opposed her policy towards migrants.
- According to latest ARD-Deutschland trend opinion poll, the number of Germans who are satisfied with the work of Chancellor Angela Merkel has hit the lowest level since December 2011.
- Still 54% Germans are happy with Chancellor's work, majority but that is 9 points lower than last month and lowest in four years.
- Horst Seehofer, leader of Bavarian Christian Social Union Party. Who has been a staunch critique of Merkel's migrant policy saw his popularity rise to 39%, highest since April, 2014.
- 51% of the Germans surveyed worrying on number of refugees heading towards Germany, compared to 38% on last month's poll.
German Chancellor, with election looming in 2017, need to handle the migrant crisis carefully or lose her bid to be Chancellor for fourth time.
