Burger King UK launches new food items, and they are Japanse-inspired. The fast-food chain announces the arrival of two new burgers, and these are the Katsu Chili Whopper and the Katsu Royale Whopper.
As per Delish, the two new sandwiches are coming to Burger King UK outlets on March 10. The Katsu Chili Whopper features the katsu curry sauce that gives the spicy flavor. Cheese, crispy onions, crunchy pickled slaw, and chili sauce are also added to complete the new taste of the flaming-hot new burger.
On the other hand, the Chicken Royale is also said to be spicy and have the same curry flavor. It also has the same toppings as the Katsu Chili, but mayonnaise has been added as well. Plus, the crispy meat fillet is chicken, unlike the beef used in the other Katsu sandwich.
What’s more, since plant-based options are also available at Burger King UK, vegans can also taste the new Whopper burgers because the “meatless” version is also offered. The company knows that the number of customers who want the vegan food menu is growing, thus it has taken this into consideration and created the version that will suit their preference.
The plant-based Katsu Chili Whopper and Katsy Vegan Royale will have the same ingredients as the original burgers. The only difference is the vegan meat and the Burger King signature vegan mayonnaise.
“We know Katsu curry is one of the nation’s favorite flavors, so we can’t wait for people to try these twists on our classic Whopper and Royale,” Burger King UK’s chief marketing officer, Katie Evans, said in a statement. “We are promising new specials that max on flavor, with vegan and vegetarian options that taste almost identical.”
Vegan Food & Living reported that Burger King UK’s new Katsu Whopper range would be in stores for a limited time only but the period is longer than usual. This time, the new burgers will be on the menu until September 2022.
Finally, according to The Sun, the new Katsu Chili Whopper will retail at £7.29 for a la carte while it will be £9.29 for a meal set which comes with a drink and fries. As for the Royale, it is priced at £6.29 and £8.29 for a meal.
