Apple has been making huge waves this week after it released two new models of the iPad on Monday and followed it up with updates about the iMac on Tuesday. As such, people are wondering if the tech giant will be releasing the AirPods 2 sometime this week as well, Inverse reported.
With the AirPods 2 speculated to come out this March, the possibility is certainly there. The assumption echoes the forecast of Ming-Chi Kuo, a reputable analyst that has correctly predicted the specs and price of the iPhone XR months before Apple unveiled the information.
What’s more, this may also be another one of Apple’s clever marketing campaign to have the market talking about their upcoming products. Paired this with the AirPods 2’s supposed feature and the hype takes on a whole different level. The problem is that the Cupertino-based tech firm hasn’t confirmed anything just yet and most of the information surrounding the second generation wireless earphones are coming from rumors.
If the AirPods 2 isn’t released this week, there’s still the chance of it seeing the light of day on March 25. Although it’s likely that the event will focus on Apple’s new streaming service, the company will be doing itself a disservice if it doesn’t offer new information about the device.
From a new coating grip and new colors to the AirPods 2 acting as a hearing aid and equipped with biometric sensors, it’s understandable that people can’t wait for the earphone to hit the market. After all, while these features are nothing but rumors, for now, there is evidence out there supporting these claims.
For instance, the talk that the AirPods 2 is capable of being used as a hearing aid started when Apple Insider peered into the latest patent filing of Apple and saw illustrations pointing in this direction. Of course, since Apple is maintaining its silence, it’s best to wait upon their official confirmation before jumping the gun. Hopefully, this week will end with the company offering some significant information about the AirPods 2 so that those waiting for its release will have an idea what to expect about the device.
