The Air Jordan 14 “Ferrari” is set to return in Summer 2025, while the Nike LeBron 22 debuted at the Paris Olympics, showcasing LeBron James' latest signature shoe.
Iconic Air Jordan 14 ‘Ferrari’ Set to Make a Thrilling Comeback in Summer 2025
After a long wait, the Air Jordan 14 “Ferrari” is finally returning in the Summer of 2025, adding to the thrill of the Jordan Release Dates for 2025. This re-release will reignite the excitement among sneaker enthusiasts and fans of the Air Jordan brand.
According to Sneaker News, the design, inspired by Michael Jordan’s love for sports cars, specifically his Ferrari 550 Maranello featured in The Last Dance, reflects meticulous craftsmanship by Tinker Hatfield. It aims to evoke the aesthetics of high-octane vehicles. The triangular Jumpman branding on the lateral sides, reminiscent of the Ferrari logo, has been a consistent feature of the model since its inception.
The “Ferrari” colorway, a significant milestone in the Air Jordan 14's history, was first released in 2014—sixteen years after the model's debut. It quickly became one of the most sought-after AJ14s, standing out with its unique “Challenge Red” suede textiles on the lateral and medial sides, and “Vibrant Yellow” accents that tie into the official Ferrari logo's colors. The chromatic and carbon fiber midsole treatments further enhance the historical significance of this model.
While official images are yet to be released, the shoe’s “Challenge Red/Black/Vibrant Yellow/Anthracite”color palette, confirmed by @zsneakerheadz, suggests the new release will closely resemble the original 2014 version. Aside from a "Yellow Ferrari" version released in 2019, the shoes have never had a proper retro.
Focusing on a more immediate release, the Jordan 14 “Black Toe” will drop on November 2nd, 2024. This classic colorway, featuring a white leather upper with black and red accents, is a must-have for any Air Jordan collector.
Nike LeBron 22 Takes Center Stage at Olympic Basketball, Showcasing Innovative Design and Patriotic Flair
The Nike LeBron 22 made several notable appearances throughout the weekend’s Olympic basketball action. LeBron James wore a conventional “Away” colorway of the LeBron 22, featuring a primarily navy-blue palette. Additionally, A’ja Wilson sported a LeBron 22 in a White/Red colorway.
From Nike’s perspective, the Olympics present an unparalleled stage to showcase the latest sports performance and athletic wear innovations. Following the debut of the LeBron TR 1 training shoe earlier in July, LeBron James has now offered the world an official first look at his next signature shoe—the Nike LeBron 22.
During a Team USA shootaround, LeBron was spotted in his new signature shoes, which featured a patriotic colorway of white, navy blue, and red. Fully revealed, the LeBron 22 maintains a low-cut silhouette similar to the previous two models, adhering to a design formula that has proven successful for the NBA’s all-time leading scorer as he continues to refine his game for greater efficiency.
Designer Jason Petrie introduced a creative twist to the Swoosh logo, incorporating it on the upper through a cut-out overlay reminiscent of the Air Zoom Generation. A smaller check is embedded at the mid-foot, where the leather-covered section of the midsole rises upwards. LeBron’s oversized signature is prominently embroidered on the heel, while the flat crown emblem appears on the upside-down triangular jewel on the tongue and the medial midsole. These unique design elements are sure to intrigue and captivate sneaker enthusiasts. Closer views of the shoes on LeBron's feet reveal additional intricate details, adding to the allure of the LeBron 22.
Anticipation Grows for Nike LeBron 22 as Potential Carryover Features Promise Performance and Quality
As of this article’s publication, the official technical specifications of the Nike LeBron 22 have not been disclosed. However, there is a strong possibility that some components from the LeBron 21, such as the Zoom Turbo and Cushlon 2.0 foam, may carry over. This potential carryover reassures consumers of the quality and performance they can expect from the LeBron 22. With the unveiling of the LeBron 22, an official announcement from Nike is anticipated soon, further building anticipation for this exciting release.
The Nike LeBron 22 will be released in late September in a “Monopoly” themed colorway. The model is tagged with an MSRP of $180 — a $20 decrease from the LeBron 21. Grade School sizes will be priced at $140. It is currently unclear if the “USA” colorway will be available to the public.
