There’s still no confirmation from Apple whether or not the iPad Pro 2019 will indeed be happening or if the next entry will be coming out next year. While the Cupertino-based company has released new iPad Pro every year since 2015, it’s uncertain they will follow the same pattern given that the latest iPad Pro came out in November last year, Macworld reported.
As such, Apple could wait until Spring next year to unveil the next entry, although this isn’t set in stone either. For the sake of discussion, let’s assume that the iPad Pro 2019 will be released this November. What sort of upgrade will the device feature then?
For its CPU, it’s expected that the iPad Pro 2019 will be outfitted with the AX13 bionic processor built on 7nm tech. Entry model for the next iteration might see an improvement in storage with Apple speculated to drop the 64GB model in lieu of 128GB variant. Higher tiers might see 512GB and 1TB similar to the 2018 iterations.
Regarding its display, the smaller and larger entries are expected to remain the same at 11 inches and 12.9 inches respectively. This is despite the fact that previous smaller variants have seen an improvement in this front having started from 9.7 inches to 10.5 inches to the 11 inches model we see today.
Apple analyst and reliable leaker Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that there would be no major upgrade slated for the iPad Pro 2019, MacRumors reported. The 2020 variant, on the other hand, might see a major bump in specs. Among them is the supposed 3D AR Camera system.
With little improvement on its specs, it’s assumed that the iPad Pro 2019 will be tagged with a similar price compared to the November 2018 models. The 128GB variant will likely mirror its 64GB 2018 cousin priced at $799. Meanwhile, the 512GB and the 1TB variants are expected to cost $1,149 and $1,549 respectively.
