Postdoctoral Researcher, Swansea University
I gained my PhD in English Literature at Swansea University in 2018 with a study of the contemporary fiction of Jeanette Winterson. In this research, I created a fresh critical discourse about her work by providing a new conceptual model I term ‘alternative fetishism’. This combines the negative and positive associations of fetishism and substitution to analyse the distinctive ways in which Winterson’s obsession with the English language drives her diverse narratives.
I have university teaching experience, most recently at Swansea University. Prior to coming to the UK for my PhD, I taught at Universiti Tenaga Nasional in Malaysia and Mazandaran University in Iran, lecturing in English literature, language, and communication.
Research interests include: Contemporary Literature, Women's Writing, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Mainly Psychoanalytical Theory and Reassessing Fetishism
