Dr. Tjønndal is a professor of sociology of sport at Nord University and a visiting professor at the Lillehammer Olympic and Paralympic Studies Center in Norway. Her research encompasses various aspects of the sociology of sport, including women's participation in male-dominated sports, coaching, gender and sports leadership, innovation, and sports technology. Tjønndal is a former national lightweight boxing champion and currently leads the Norwegian girls' and women's inclusion project, Norway Female Box. With 20 years of experience as an athlete and coach in boxing, she brings extensive expertise to her roles.
