Lecturer in Linguistics, Newcastle University
Most of my academic work has been on French linguistics specifically, and I am Lecturer in French Linguistics at Newcastle University. But my training is in general linguistics, and it's important to me to keep up the connection between these two parts of my interests. My main interest within both French and general linguistics is sociolinguistics--how people relate to the language(s) they use--and I also have a Masters in European politics. I write and give media analysis about themes connected with all these things--swearing in public has been a recent hot topic--and I tweet about it all @EvrydayLg.
