I'm a PhD candidate in Communication and Culture in the joint program between Ryerson University and York University. My research interests are Muslim audiences and Muslim superheroes. My dissertation research was an audience study of young adult Muslim perspectives on the emerging Muslim superhero archetype. I have published in the Popular Culture Studies Journal, Feminist Encounters: A Journal of Critical Studies in Culture and Politics, and Word Hoard.
