I am a Principal Lecturer in the Carnegie School of Education at Leeds Beckett University. Having taught English at secondary school, I now teach English subject knowledge and pedagogy to trainee teachers. My research focuses on the teaching of creative writing and I have published a book exploring at boys' identities in their writing as they make the transition from primary to secondary school.
