Senior Research Fellow, UNSW
My transdisciplinary research investigates the intersection of affect, power and violence in culture, media and politics with an emphasis on witnessing and testimony. I am currently working on a major project funded by an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (2019-2021) on drone witnessing in war and culture. In addition to articles in Continuum, Cultural Studies, Environmental Humanities and other leading journals, I am the author of Gestures of Testimony: Torture, Trauma and Affect in Literature (Bloomsbury 2016) and co-editor of Traumatic Affect (2013).
