Postdoctoral researcher, Institute of Development Policy (IOB), University of Antwerp
My interests lie in ecological economics and political ecology as it relates to human-nature relations. I completed a PhD at McGill University (2015) examining the social and political implications of economic valuation of the environment, particularly through "payments for ecosystem service" initiatives and has currently begun a post-doctoral fellowship at the Institute of Development Policy at the University of Antwerp in Belgium. I am also a writer at the "Earth Negotiations Bulletin" and has considerable experience in following multi-lateral processes on "sustainable development" discourses at the international level. I try to be active in my community in Montréal in building solidarity with anti-oppressive struggles, especially in supporting migrant justice, raising attention to gentrification and against Islamophobia in the South-Asian diaspora.
