I wrote my Ph.D. dissertation on territorial disputes in East Asiaat the University of Sheffield. I've worked as a lecturer at Lund University for just under three years, before that I was a lecturer at Aarhus University in Denmark for three years.
This summer I was awarded 'docent', the Swedish version of the German 'habilitation'.
I've published articles and books on a variety of issues related to East Asian international relations and Japanese domestic politics. Topics include US military bases in Japan, food politics and food security, and regional geopolitics. I currently have a research project on public diplomacy in South Korea funded by the Korea Foundation.
