Associate Professor, NHMRC Career Development Fellow, University of South Australia
After working as a paediatric physiotherapist in Australia and the UK for a number of years, I completed a PhD in 2008 focused on understanding and increasing physical activity amongst children and adolescents with cerebral palsy. I currently receive a Career Development Fellowship from the National Health and Medical Research Council, and am based in the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition and Activity (ARENA) research centre at the University of South Australia.
My research examines the relationships between people’s daily activity patterns (e.g. physical activity, sleep and sedentary behaviors such as television watching) and their health. In particular, I am interested in population-based approaches to health behavior change, including the development and evaluation of website-delivered, social networking and smartphone app interventions.
