HOUSTON, Feb. 13, 2018 -- Xedia Process Solutions today announced a multi-year exclusive agreement to provide its XDN modified nutshell media to Ecodyne Limited, a Marmon Water/Berkshire Hathaway company. The agreement covers water treatment applications in Canadian and Chinese Upstream Oil and Gas market sectors as well as the North American Refining and Petrochemical sectors.
The current “lower longer” oil price outlook has led E&P companies to squeeze CAPEX budgets and has also amplified the operational costs stemming from process upsets; e.g., the clogging of injection wells or fouling of softening resin due to underperforming filtration equipment. Xedia’s XDN media has been successfully implemented around the world as a drop-in solution to these challenges. XDN, when placed in traditional nutshell filtration equipment, has shown it can as much as double the capacity of the filter while simultaneously improving oil and solids removal performance.
Declan McLaughlin, Senior VP of Marmon Water, summarized expected benefits to Ecodyne’s customers, saying “We are very excited to be working with Xedia and utilizing the XDN modified nutshell media breakthrough technology. Ecodyne Ltd. plans to use this XDN product to spearhead our suite of water filtration products into our core markets. XDN offers our customers life-cycle savings and performance benefits beyond what is currently available in the market. This, coupled with Ecodyne’s world class execution, is going to be a winning combination.”
Xedia’s patent-pending XDN Modified Nutshell Media is the first step-change advance in media for nutshell filtration in more than half a century. On the agreement, Xedia CEO Justin Love said “Combining our XDN media with Ecodyne’s vast aftermarket services capability, large installed base of HYDROFLOW™ Oil removal filters and other water treatment technologies will provide Xedia with access to large, previously under-explored markets. The collaboration will also provide Ecodyne with a distinct competitive advantage in terms of cost, size and performance over other filter providers in those markets.”
