Adidas will release a red, yellow, and dark navy edition that honors the McDonald’s All-American Game as part of the Adidas Trae Young 1 colorway cycle.
While the zig-zagged color-blocking design is consistent with previous releases of Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young’s signature shoe, there is an emblem at the heel and insole and a “45” on the tongue that honors the anniversary of the event.
With this year’s McDonald’s All-American Game edition scheduled to take place in March 2022, observers say that a release during that month is likely.
Since its 1977 debut, the game has featured the best young American basketball players, including Young in 2017.
Just a few years later, the point guard has established himself as one of the NBA’s best.
His shoe did not disappoint.
The moment the Adidas Trae Young 1 in the 'Peachtree' colorway debuted at Madison Square Garden in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, the marketing campaign hasn't missed. The past few months have been incredible, from chilling commercials to collabs with famous rappers to organic moments with fans.
Young recently scored 56 points and dished out 14 assists, becoming the only NBA player to accomplish that feat.
