The property recently completed an extensive $14 million renovation and debuted three new dining establishments, including The Marketplace, a grab-and-go eatery featuring fresh, organic, farm-to-table meals, juices and baked goods; 400 Park Bistro, featuring mouth-watering burgers, fresh sandwiches and amazing drinks in an open and modern atmosphere; and Seared Fine Dining, a contemporary fine-dining restaurant that focuses on providing quality experiences featuring exquisite foods, fine wines and spirits.
Chef Peter, a classically trained chef, was specifically chosen to launch The Westin Chicago Northwest’s new restaurants with his over 20 years of experience in fine dining, catering and banquets. Chef Peter began working in kitchens at a young age and quickly realized his passion for cooking. He went on to study culinary arts at The Western Culinary Institute in Portland, where he graduated with honors and received a Le Cordon Bleu Degree.
After working in some of Portland’s top restaurants, gastro pubs and country clubs, Peter moved to Chicago, Illinois to further his career in the hospitality industry. Chef Peter gravitated toward large properties and, most recently, worked at The Westin Chicago North Shore and previously at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers as Chef de Cuisine.
With extensive experience in creating regional cuisines and working with fresh ingredients, Chef Peter is the perfect fit for the Westin Chicago Northwest’s new dining scene. His passion for fresh and local ingredients will bring the perfect touch of creative expertise to The Marketplace. 400 Park Bistro will feature mouthwatering burgers and sandwiches derived from Chef Peter’s American cooking skills. His fine dining experience helped him develop the exquisite food offered at Seared.
When Chef Peter is not in the kitchen, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. His resume boasts numerous experiences that make him a more than qualified fit for The Westin Chicago Northwest. The hotel is excited to welcome Chef Peter to The Westin Chicago Northwest team.
“We’re thrilled with all of the recent changes taking place here at The Westin,” said Diane Howard, Director of Sales for the property. “The new spaces look phenomenal, and with the appointment of Chef Peter to Executive Chef, all three of our new restaurant concepts bring a truly unique experience to the Itasca area.”
