Showrunner Eric Wallace already teased a little on what’s going to happen in “The Flash” season 6 episode 14. “It’s going to be quite exciting,” Wallace said referring to former cast member Keiynan Lonsdale’s return in the upcoming episode, which is titled “Death of the Speed Force,” TV Line reported.
The source of that excitement is that the Wally West will come back a changed man. He has already grown and will even have new superpowers.
“When I first talked to Keiynan about it, he was very excited about what he called this ‘fresh take’ on Wally,” Wallace continued. “And once on-set, he was loving ‘the New Wally West’ — and that’s not an exaggeration at all. It’s the same character that we know and love, but he has grown, deepened and changed. And he might even have some new abilities”
Keiynan Lonsdale, as Wally, was last seen in “The Flash” season 5 premiere. Wally visited to see his dad and Cecile’s newborn Jenna.
In the episode “Death of the Speed Force,” Wally will return to Central City “with a Zen attitude,” TV Line reported. This time, the more mature character will have a very important mission “because he thinks there is something wrong with the speed force.”
Wally’s mission requires him to work with Barry. However, events will force the two to change as well. And the exciting part is that both characters’ abilities might be upgraded in the process.
“Wally returns for one of the pivotal episodes in the mythology of The Flash, and that is not an understatement,” Wallace said. “He comes back a changed person, and what he comes back to deal with, and how it involves Barry, will literally change the two of them — and their abilities, quite frankly — moving forward.”
“Kid Flash returns to Central City with a Zen attitude and new tricks up his sleeve,” the synopsis of the episode reads, according to PopDesign.co. “While thrilled to see his family again, Wally confides to Barry that he returned because he thinks there is something wrong with the speed force. Cisco returns from his fact-finding mission across Earth-Prime.”
“The Flash” season 6 episode 14 will air on March 10.
